On our way to our last canoe trip, we came across this sign. It's in front of a floral shop in Cornwall, just outside Kentville. Yes these signs say exactly what you think. We took these pics at about 8:30am or so. By 4pm they had checnged them back obviously.

66 SLEEPS UNTIL HUNTING SEASON!
I would like to bid Farewell to a good friend.
A friend who has never let me down(when it was floating).
He has gone back to its owner. (plagerism from Rob :) )
I stole it fair and square 2 years ago, but it has now been stolen back... damn you Jimmy I hope you use it in Newfoundland as much as I used it here. Time to get one of my own I guess.

We finally got both quads running..... briefly. We took them out for a test ride after dark. We got up the fire road, down the power lines, through the mud holes, and had both bikes stall at the same time. Neither would start and both had low batteries. We had to use the jump cables but we were able to start them. We made it back out from the mud and then one stalled again and had to be towed the rest of the way. Robs is fixed and running well now, but mine, the one that was running, now needs work. We havent looked hard yet but the alternator dosent seem to be charging the battery.

Robs new toy.

Here are the pics from last sunday. Rob took up the challenge and we went on another trip. We only went 20km this time, thank god. You cant tell from the pictures but there was almost no portaging at all compared with the last trip. Not many pictures of me though, Barry has dropped off the planet since this trip and hasnt sent his photos.

I would like to bid Farewell to a good friend.

I must now focus my attention on my new project,
The QUAD! When are we going for a cruise Adam??

Well for those that know us you should know that neither me (Adam) or Barry have a ounce of self doubt when it comes to adventure. "Sounds like a good idea, lets do it" Well apparently this can be a bad combination when a normal person is not with us. We went fishing for a couple hours on Monday, took the kayak and canoe to float down the river. Well from 8:30 till shortly after noon we ended up portaging, the water was too shallow. We then checked the GPS and saw the truck was 21km away, as the crow flies. The car was only about 1km walking distance. So we started paddling, no time for fishing at this point. It was a great day, especially once the water was deep enough to float us on a consistent basis. The afternoon was tiring, supper time was exausting, my muscles were burning. Sunset was excruciating, my arms were on fire, but I could not actually feel them moving, I was numb. Darkness was ok, we had a full moon, but no flashlights. Then the last bit before the truck we hit rapids again, in the dark, with no idea what was in front of us.

We made it to the truck after 13 hours on the water, and about 40km of travel. I cant speak for Barry (although I think he called in sick, the wuss) but today hurt. It was worth it though. Next time well skip the 3 km portage....

So where are we going this weekend Barry?

Some More Toronto Pics.
For those of you who know me well enough,
You know how much I LOVE heights!
